Confocal Laser Scanning Microscopy

February 2014 headed by Ralf Palmisano

This workshop is interesting for all who start to work with confocal microscopy. It is good to know already the basics and it is favorable if you have already worked a few times at this microscope, but it is also possible to participate without previous knowledge.
The workshop is divided into two parts. The first part is based on theory but contains also a short practical interval with probe preparation. All parts take place at the OICE, Hartmannstraße 14, in the seminar room and the lab. (Duration 9:00-15:30.) For the second part the participants are divided into small groups of 3-4 persons. In this part, the samples are visualized at the microscope (also at the OICE, duration: 2-3 hours) with focus on the application of the Leica software.
The workshop is guided by Ralf Palmisano. Participants without previous knowledge get an impression how confocal microscopy works and get an idea of the versatile possibilities of this technique. Advanced participants can additionally discuss problems and get new ideas for their own experiments.
